Clarity Backed by Expertise
What happens at my first appointment?
1
Your first appointment begins with a consultation and assessment. We’ll discuss your symptoms, how long you’ve had the problem, any previous treatments and how it is affecting you. We can then explain the treatment options that may be appropriate and answer any questions before you decide how you would like to proceed.
Do I need a consultation before treatment?
2
Yes. Appropriate patient selection is an important part of the care we provide. We need to assess your condition, medical history and individual circumstances before confirming whether a particular treatment is suitable for you.
Do you provide general podiatry?
3
No. FootXpert® focuses specifically on specialist and advanced podiatric treatments rather than routine general foot care.
Are your treatments suitable for everyone?
4
Not necessarily. Every patient is assessed individually. Your medical history, diagnosis and the nature of your condition will all be considered before treatment is recommended.
How is Curacorn® different from having a corn removed?
5
Traditional corn removal removes the hard skin that has developed, but if the underlying pressure remains, the corn may return. Curacorn® takes a different approach by providing cushioning beneath the affected area with the aim of reducing the pressure contributing to the problem.
Are the procedures painful?
6
Local anaesthetic is used as part of the procedure to make treatment as comfortable as possible. Patient’s report the procedures being very comfortable due to our specialised patient friendly techniques.
How quickly will I notice a difference?
7
Everyone is different but most patients report a considerable reduction in pain within 3 days and full resolution within a 2 week period.
When will I need nail surgery?
8
Nail surgery may be recommended for painful, recurrent or problematic toenails, particularly ingrown toenails that repeatedly become inflamed, infected or uncomfortable.
Will the whole toenail be removed?
9
Not necessarily. In many cases, only the troublesome section of nail needs to be removed. Sometimes removal of the whole nail is more appropriate. We’ll discuss this with you following assessment.
Do you do home visits?
10
Due to the nature of our treatments we prefer to stay in our clinical setting. We have off road parking and the clinic is wheelchair accessible.
Do you treat people under 18?
11
Yes, children are welcome to come in for an assessment if they have a foot problem.
Do you offer payment plans?
12
Yes, you can break your treatment cost into affordable payments. Please speak to us about payment choices.
Still have a question?
Every foot problem is different. If you're unsure which treatment might be right for you, start with a consultation and we'll talk you through your options.
